Mavis Nye - Seasalter, Kent, UK - Her Mesothelioma Story

"I am a 67 yr old wife and mum, who up untill christmas 2008 was fit and healthy. Going to the Gym every week, swiming once a week and to keep fit classes once a week.

I regularly walked my dog on a daily 2 mile round walk. Cleaned our car and motorhome cleaned my own windows did all my own gardening. Concidered myself fit. At new year I visited my Doctor and was in and out of hospital for tests, xrays, MRI scans, biopsys.

Then Boom! We are sorry but you have mesothelioma. Thats an incurable lung cancer from contamination with Asbestos. Which my husband worked with in the early 60's bringing the dust home on his clothes that I washed. Now some 48 years later and after Experimental Lung Surgery I am awaiting a course of Chemo and Radiation in the next few weeks.
